Alternative Technology Centre (ATC)

The ATC was established on the banks of the Rochdale Canal in Hebden Bridge in 1999, and is an educational resource centre that aims to make sustainability achievable. They have a long history of renewable energy, recycling and low environmental impact technology projects, working closely with schools in the area and abroad.

More recently the ATC have set up a Making Place facility, and run workshops that are suitable for younger people on things such as electroluminescent wire and Makey Makey.

Oomlout are suppliers of electronic components and kits and are based just down the road in Halifax. They are also the creators of what is pretty much the de facto Arduino starter kit, the ARDX, which is sold around the world!
